Craft Fair Tips

Always be prepared: This will help you tremendously so you will not stress out. Plan months ahead especially even its the Christmas Craft fairs that always come later usually around November or December. Preparation here is the key it yes that is right it will take months to prepare for the big event.

Be sure to have invoices: This includes the little invoice books just in case someone wants to order a certain craft item for later. For example if you only have one item left and they want one just like it for a friend or a family member. Also its a good idea to keep on hand right beside your seat.

Craft Fair Inventory: There is some great inventory list out there online. This will keep track of your craft items and their prices then you can put them in a folder.

Brace yourself for the big event be sure to have a cooler full of drinks and maybe snacks. Always bring extra items as well including things to do on downtime. For example other items to bring: Scissors, gum or mints, string trust me you never know when you might need it,calculater, and etc

Be sure to smile at your customers especially the difficult ones or the ones who might say stuff about your items. Also its a good idea to price every thing in big bold letters cause they will ask you fifty billion times how much is it. Its also a good idea for some items to be stored in bags not only cause of germs but there will be a few ladys wanting to play with your items. I have seen it happen several times at the craft fairs I do and yes it happen to me. For example one lady kept playing with my pincushions she would walk away then come back squeeze them as hard as she could. Her friend walked beside her and was like what cute little doll pillows even the ones with buttons on them.

Also be sure to bring someone with you to watch your booth for you may need a bathroom break or go shopping yourself. Some craft fairs are inside and might serve food. If so its a good idea to have a friend or a family member to watch your booth just in case that is what you like to do. If not your craft fair neighbors are always willing to help you out.
